Ahh... Cige?

Beck - E-Pro by neptunlu

All energised and ready to do some shit my reli's thought id be cool to take around to some "Tourist attractions" around the area. I cant speak Tagalog the main language here so theres a little communication barrier to tackle. If i cant be stuffed trying to work out what they're saying i just nod and say "Cige" which i think translates to "OK".

Before seeing the sights, we had to do a pitstop to one one of my rellies' businesses. He runs a few Jeepenies around the town, which is their form of public transport. Using the base of a small size truck, extend the chassis, then drop the rear cabin and you've got yourself a Jeepeny. Oh yeah, and splash on a crapload of chrome and some hectic vinyls. Anyway, after that, I thought I was meant to climb some volcano thingie but I was off without the translations. We headed South to Bataan to visit a memorial site on top of Mt Samat. As the photos show, there's a big ass cross on top of the mountain in rememberance of the fallen ones in the Battle of Bataan. After that we headed West to Subic Bay and checked out the Philippines' only Tigar safari. It was really touristy, but meh, I enjoyed it.

MMMmmm sleeeepppp....

I had organised to get my relatives to pick me up from the airport. My home town is about an hour and half North of Manila in the province of Pampanga. After a food pitstop, I finally arrived at my destination at about 3:00am Philly time. I had practically been awake twenty-four hours. I was dead shit tired and knocked out straight away until 6:00am when the neighbours' retarded dog wouldn't stop barking. Then I realised that my rellie's house was getting their kitchen worked on, so I had to sleep through the harmonious sounds of banging AND that fuckwit of a dog barking. Screw venturing outside, I slept through the whole day!

Next stop: Philippines!

12:10am - Flying into Manila to start my adventure. The whole plane was packed, apart from the empty row in front of me. Screw being cramped with a bunch of randoms; I kindly asked the stewardess if I could move to the spare window seat. I knew I wouldn't get a clean exposed shot of the city out of the window, so I slowed down my shutter and got this just before we landed.

I did a shoot on Sunday before I left. It probably wont be a while 'til I get the rest of the shots processed, so here's one I prepared earlier.

Do you know what time it is?

Adventure Time! by Lysergic Skies

Well, I'm currently sitting in a little café thingy at the Brunei Airport waiting for my next flight to Manila. I've managed to get some free WIFI and have hunted down a power point to charge up my Mac. For the next two odd months I'll be trying my best to keep my adventures in Philip's Penis updated daily... Oh shit! What the fuck is that? They've just cranked up some Muslim prayer thingy across the speakers. Well shit, eh!

Hmmm, inspiration?

Righto, so I've got to get cracking on writing up my graphics portfolio layout - the actual concepts I'm going to put in it. I've got the general products to work on: web designs, poster, logo, magazine, typography, yada yada yada. But I really want to throw in a short animation and some motion graphics alongside the whole 2D print media, web design stuff. I already know a thing or two about animation, I'm passionate with motion graphics, and all I need is some inspiration. I've done some surfing on the internet and today I stumbled upon an old site I had forgotten about. Back when I was studying animation, I would always head to this site everyday for inspiration. This was the site that really got me into motion graphics and working in After Effects. I could probably say this is the site that really got me thinking creatively, something with which I am very rusty. I blame my job, the job I'm leaving.

Anyway, you're probably reading this and thinking to yourself, "shut up and tell us the site!" Well no, sorry, find your own inspiration. I will leave you this video they posted. It was the first video I watched after being "reunited" with the site today. It's a bit of a coincidence when you're looking for inspiration and you stumble upon this video...
